This is an example of a "Wet" treatment.  The client is receiving not only a Neuromuscular Stimulation treatment, but has two forms of Far Wave Infrared on her legs as well.  In addition, she is receiving an Aromatherapy session for stress as well.  Soothing Lavender helps calm the nerves when in a "high pain" situation.  She could have just as easily reclined back and dozed in subdued light while listening to soft music or "stretched out" on a comfortable massage table; complete with either vibration or heat.

We offer several other nerve stimulation options in our treatment of Peripheral Neuropathy.  The above is just a sample of treatments.

Peripheral Neuropathy can be not only very uncomfortable feeling in the feet or hands, but dangerous as well.  In fact, some state even restrict drivers license of those afflicted; reasoning, that if one cannot adequately feel ones feet or properly grasp a steering wheel, they have no business driving a motor vehicle.  And, when coupled with the side effects of certain medications, the added blood pressure and depressions which can go along with the disorder, the effects of Neuropathy can be simply devastating!

NEUROMUSCULAR STIMULATION:

Through the use of our Nerve ReBuilder™ and the proper variety of supplements to help the nerves fire appropriately, many have much reduced symptoms or fully eliminate symptoms all together! Although supplements are not all together necessary, they do greatly aid in the treatment of the synoptic junctions which have grown apart due to Hypoxia (oxygen deprivation).

In laymen’s terms, synoptic junctions are something like the poles on a spark plug. When a spark plug is gapped properly and “fires,” ones car operates at it’s peak performance.  Gas mileage is at it’s best, the car runs smoothly, etc.  The same can be said for synoptic junctions.  When gapped poorly, neither a spark plug or a synoptic junction will fire properly; and thus, “symptoms” occur. The car exhibits poor mileage and the person experiences pain and numbness.

When the ReBuilder™ works, it sends a signal - exactly the same frequency as what the brain sends to the feet, only amplified - up the foot, continuing up the leg, across the hips (taking in the Periformus Muscle and the L5 disk) and down the other leg and into the opposite foot, 7.83 times per second; before reversing polarity and going back to it's point of origin.  This process stops pain, strengthens muscles and increases circulation to the oxygen starved synoptic junctions and other tissues; all while releasing endorphins in the brain, and re-organizing the nerve paths.  In turn, nerve function and transmission increases and the calf muscles become strengthened... and stronger calf muscles, mean LESS FALLS!  When used on the hands, the same function happens - only the signal travels up the arms, across the shoulders and down the other arm 7.83 times per second before reversing polarity and traveling back to it's point of origin.  Once again, resulting in more feeling, better circulation, pain relief and stronger arm muscles.

When the synoptic junctions move apart due to hypoxia (regardless of the reason) pain, numbness, tingling, a feeling of walking on rocks or cardboard and/or numbness often is the result.  Unfortunately, doctors, whom seldom believe that both pain and numbness can occur at the same time, can do little more than to prescribe Vicodin or Neurontin for the symptoms. Unfortunately still,  Neurontin or Gabapentin as it is more commonly known as, has other side affects such as edema (swelling) of the ankles as well.

Other drugs, such as Cymbalta or Lyrica, although excellent drugs for some issues, can cause more problems than they are worth when it comes to Neuropathy.

This is often the case when it comes to Idiopathic Neuropathy. What exactly is “Idiopathic?”  Idiopathic is a word doctors use when they have no other reason as to “why” someone may have developed Peripheral Neuropathy.  Often, through our intake, we identify the reason why some may have developed Neuropathy.  Although, we are not doctors and do not diagnose, we can give recommendations to clients to take to their doctors as to what might be behind the Peripheral Neuropathy—for example, in some cases, which are generally never addressed by doctors, the client may have been exposed to high levels of Agent Orange during the Vietnam war.  Something most doctors might night even think to ask of their clients!

Anodyne treatments as well as Acu-koryo Hand Therapy and pressure point stimulation, acupressure or aroma therapy may also be used as well as massage to release tight muscles which may contribute to the Peripheral Neuropathy.  Often, we have found, simple nerve impingement is responsible for many bouts of pain and numbness.  If the nerve pressure is relieved, the pain and numbness in the feet or hands will simply go away.  This is why we work closely with two different chiropractors: one for upper cervical issues, and one for the lower back.  If a nerve can be released by chiropractic manipulation, often that is the first step of many of our clients.  Afterwards, we can then properly address the pain, numbness and circulation issues left unresolved by medical care.

Diabetics may have Nerve Stimulation with a "Dry" treatment;  Although, we have found treating "wet" is a much more effective way to start ones treatment - especially, as it ups the amount of nerve stimulation by 30% or more.  Plus, one "exercises" the calf muscles more effectively as well.  EMS muscle stimulation does nothing in regards to a "cardiac" workout; but it does excerise the the calf muscles much in the same way as walking or running around the block.  We have to be careful, in fact, not to fatigue the muscles.

Neuropathy can be broken down and simplified as due to Hypoxia - a lack of oxygen.  When the long or short nerve fibers are "stimulated" additional blood flow is brought to the oxygen starved tissue.  Unless the epidermal layers have been damaged or lost including the ends of the short nerve fibres which grow up through the tissue, health can be returned to said fibers.

Through the use of Neuromuscular Stimulation, we can "heal" or "re-route" the nerves.  Often, especially with Diabetics, the Myelin shething on the nerves become so ragged, that they "mis-fire;" often causing the pain and tingling one feels.  Soaking and stimulating the nerves in the feet through the use of nerve ReBuilder™ is one of our very effective ways of treating the pain and numbness in the feet.  Often, the cramping of the feet is the first to improve, following less pain, tingling and numbness.

Above is an example of use of not only the ReBuilder™, but Far Wave Infrared and oxygen treatment as well.  All modalities very effective when combined; yet all totally non-intrusive.

Purchasing your own ReBuilder™ for daily use is always an option.  You can speak to your technician about it or shop direct from Chico Holistic Healthcare's ReBuilder™ Medical's site: http://shop.rebuildermedical.com/?Click=13571.
